A flexible co-working concept for businesses of various sizes and segments within construction, engineering and real estate.
The story behind Construction City
In 2016, the executive directors of OBOS and AF Gruppen joined forces to create the futures workplace, as well as a cluster community for the construction, engineering and real estate industry.
The industry is experiencing increased pressure from foreign competitors, and find themselves geographically dispersed and decentralized, so much so that it is challenging to build shared innovation capacity and competitiveness.
The discussions led to the decision to co-locate the future headquarters of the major corporations. OBOS owned a suitable 120-acre plot of land at Ulven in Oslo – unusually large given the short distance to the city center. The meeting resulted in an ambition that was far greater than they first imagined:
“We agreed to do something that has never been done before, something that will lift our collective competitiveness: A cluster and property concept that will include everyone in the industry – whether it is traditional competitors, new partners or educational institutions”

How to get to Construction City
Efficient travel route with many options
It is easy to get to and from Construction City. Whether you want to take the subway, bus, electric scooter, bicycle or car.
Public transport
Construction City is within walking distance of a wide range of public transport options, including Økern T, Ulvenkrysset and Ulven Torg. There are good bus connections with frequent departures, and at Økern T there are two different metro lines. The nearest bus stop is Ulven Torg, which is only a four-minute walk from the building.
There are also several good and safe bike paths leading to Construction City – making it easy to get to and from the workplace in an environmentally friendly way.
Parking
Construction City has several parking levels distributed throughout the building, with both short-term and long-term parking for employees and visitors.
All parking areas have direct access to the building and are equipped with electric car charging stations.

Consideration for the environment and sustainability is central to the development of Construction City.
Construction City is a powerhouse for innovation and collaboration in the construction, engineering and real estate industries, where we work together to solve industry challenges. That is why it has been particularly important to use both well-known and new innovative solutions that take environmental and sustainability considerations into account in the construction of Construction City.
